Thanksgiving may be over….

This card also used the beautiful Autumn Traditions paper, which I love!  The leaves were cut using the Big Shot (you’ve gotta get this great tool!) and the Leaves #2 die.  I covered the leaves with the retired Juntos DSP (only because I wanted to use up my retired paper), but you could use some of the coordinating paper from the Autumn Traditions Designer Series Paper to cover them.  If you’ve never purchased the Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up!, you’re missing out on some great paper.  Each pack comes with 10 sheets (2 each of five different papers) which are all double-sided with different but coordinating prints on each side.  You won’t be disappointed! 

Some tips for creating this card:

• You don’t always have to use an ink pad for inking up those stamps!  For this stamp, I used the Stampin’ Up! stampin’ write markers.  Just color the images on the stamp directly with your marker (you may want to ‘huff’ on it – breathe on it to get it moist again if it’s taken awhile to color it), then stamp it on your paper.  This is a great way to get those multicolor images for one stamp.
• The Designer Series paper also has a piece of thin cardboard in the back of the paper to keep the package of paper firm.  I used this cardboard to make my leaves to give them a little more substance and dimension.  I cut out the cardboard in the shape of the entire die, then cut out a piece of the Juntos paper in the same size.  I then glued the paper to the cardboard (with SU!’s Tombow Multipurpose Adhesive), let it dry, THEN ran it through the Big Shot using the Leave #2 die.  Comes out perfect every time!
